The credit for achieving a top notch golf course and associated infrastructure in a short time span goes to the efforts and generosity of CGL’s members. One indicator of CGL’s popularity is, even as a fledgling club, it has already established affiliations with 20 high profile clubs from across the country.

Our Golf Fields ARE A Modern Comfortable PLACE TO Play
Coorg is a land of fine sportsmen and women, yet until recently, few had the opportunity for easy access to a golf course. The vision for CGL was to overcome this gap and fulfill the dream of providing golfing facilities to a large section of enthusiasts. This dream started to become a reality in 1993 when a section of the golfing fraternity began to scout for suitable land to construct a competitive golf course.
Tee Time
CGL’s success story was made possible by many remarkable people who extended their wholehearted support and contributed generously to make the dream of an 18-hole golf course come true. Founder members of the club including CA Muthanna, MG Ganesh, KM Mandanna, Col BM Chengappa, and IK Anil, interviewed in the following pages, stood by the club through thick and thin. Machiah Cariappa, Nanda Pemmaya, KM Ponappa, Ivor Rodrigues, Pramod Kurien, Dr. TN Achaiah, C Ajay Muthanna, NP Machia, AT Cariapa, KA Chinappa and MM Thimaiah guided the club in its early years.

Beautifully located in the picturesque surroundings. The Golf Course project was envisaged in the year 1987 after a round of golf at the then Consolidated Golf Grounds Pollibetta.

CAPTAIN'S CLUB
On a monsoon morning with a string of cirrus clouds lurking in the southwestern sky, CGL’s four captains to date, gathered on the veranda of the clubhouse to relive 25 years of the club’s existence.
From its humble beginnings as a supposedly absurd idea born on a barstool, to one of India’s finest 18-hole courses, K K Aiyapa, Maj Gen S K Kariappa, D A Uthappa and K S Uthaiah recall the good times as well as the hard spells they had to weather.
